Jamestown is the slim Guilford-County town that sits between Greensboro and High Point along Main Street and the Penny Road corridor, and it has the quiet, settled feel of a place that grew up around Guilford College and the Sedgefield Country Club rather than around an interstate. The Sedgefield and Guilford College side gives us mature hardwoods over the driveway, brick steps up to a center-hall Colonial, and the occasional partial basement we have to factor into the carry. - Walk the carry path first. On the older Sedgefield side we map every doorway and stair turn before the load, and we measure anything oversized — a sleeper sofa, a king box spring, a Carolina lowboy dresser — against the foyer width.
- Sort the gate and the HOA window. For Mackay Road and the new builds toward Forestdale, our office locks your entry code, vendor paperwork, and assigned move slot a few days out.
- Match the crew to the home. A 1940s brick on Penny Road needs three with stair-tool training; a four-bedroom new build off Mackay needs four hands and the big truck. Either way, you get the headcount in writing before the day.
- Start ahead of the afternoon thunderstorms. June through September the Piedmont sky breaks over Sedgefield most afternoons — first-light starts keep the load mostly done before the rain shows up.
